On August 18th, Youth Engaging Youth hosted an art night at the Art Gallery of Alberta. The night was a thank you to the community and organizations and individuals that we had partnered with to help make our events possible. The night was called Before 150 Art Night. When guests arrived they were invited to watch our slideshow of pictures that I had acquired throughout the summer over our many events. There was also cocktails, tea, coffee and yummy snacks for everyone to enjoy.
The guests were then invited to explore the exhibits in the gallery, paying special attention to the Past Imperfect: A Canadian History Project exhibit. This exhibit displayed over 120 pieces from various artists that portrayed pivotal moments in Canadian history as the artist had interpreted it. Many pieces were of or by Aboriginal artists.
Thank you to all those who came out for this very special night!
